Our Team
PRISM is led by a team of committed leaders serving communities across Tanzania through ministry and practical initiatives.
Dr. Gina Helms
Founder & Executive DirecctorGina Helms is the founder of PRISM and has served in Tanzania since 2007. What began through exposure to different cultures and faiths during her university years grew into a long-term commitment to ministry and community development among unreached areas. Today, she leads initiatives focused on advancing clean water, education, public health, and the gospel through relationship-driven work.
Gina brings a unique combination of technical and theological training to her role. She holds degrees in computer science as well as advanced studies in biblical interpretation and ministry. Her doctoral work explored how the gospel is perceived in unreached communities, with a focus on reducing barriers to understanding and access.
Her work is grounded in a desire to see individuals and communities flourish both spiritually and practically. Gina is passionate about long-term impact—equipping leaders, strengthening communities, and helping create environments where people can thrive according to God’s design.
